General information
Department graduates bachelors and masters on direction 760100 -“Environmental engineering and water use”. The Department holds training courses for workers of agriculture, water management and farmers of Kyrgyz Republic.
Material and technical base of the Department is constantly updated in accordance with the requirements of the modern state educational standards. On the basis of the unique laboratories of the Department, the only one in Central Asia “water Museum”.
Classrooms of the Department are equipped with modern multimedia equipment, computers and personal library of Honored worker of agriculture of KR, Professor J. Suymbaev and Honored constructor of the KR, Statesman and social activist of the KR Batyrkanov.K.M.
Graduates of the Department work in all regions of the Kyrgyz Republic and abroad in the system of water management and melioration of the Agriculture Ministry of Kyrgyz Republic in the basin, regional and district of water management, water users Associations, municipalities.

Work plan

- Develop the process of teaching disciplines assigned to the department.
- Ensure high-level training and production practices using modern information technologies and the latest measuring instruments.
- Prepare materials for compiling and writing work programs for the new State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education in the disciplines of the department.
- Creation of a computer class with multimedia equipment for students to deeply understand and master the role of hydrological, hydrogeological and reclamation processes in the rational use and protection of water resources.
- Implementation of research work by teachers according to the individual work plan.
- Preparation and publication of guidelines and manuals.
- Preparation of scientific articles for publication and reports at scientific conferences.
- Participation in meetings of the department, Faculty Council, KNAU conferences and other scientific forums.
- Mutual attendance of classes (according to the plan of the department).
- Visiting open classes of leading teachers of the faculty and the university.
- Advanced training through postgraduate and master’s programs.
- Participation in seminars, trainings, advanced training courses.
- Work with scientific, technical and educational literature.
Research work of the Department are the development of methods of regulation of water balance of irrigated fields in desert, semi-desert and steppe zones of mountain regions, as well as improving irrigation technologies and management water use and water distribution. The Department has full-time and part-time postgraduate study. Over the last decade prepared and defended 3 doctoral and 5 PhD theses. In recent years the Department staff published: 1 monograph, 1 textbook and more than 30 scientific articles.

History of the department
Department “Land reclamation and water resources management” is one of the oldest departments of the faculty of irrigation engineering, ecology and land management. Was established in 1952 under the leadership of doctor of technical Sciences, Professor Vinogradov G. P.
